It’s been many months since I’ve posted a newsletter article. This was not intentional on my part. Just got busy, and I think of the newsletter and writing in general more as a tool for helping me think than as a social media platform to enhance my “brand”. In fact, I don’t like social media as I think it is a terrible “epistemology”. I was also genuinely surprised how many people told me they read my newsletter and missed it. I’ll try to be more consistent going forward. Meanwhile here’s the first one in a while, a tribute to my long-time inspiration and friend, Gordon Bell. Gordon Bell, a computing pioneer who recently passed away, left an indelible mark on the industry through his visionary work at Digital Equipment Corporation, the National Science Foundation, and beyond. I was fortunate to know Gordon for the last 30 years. Known for his brilliance, bluntness, and ability to foresee technological trends, Gordon championed the power of action and practical demonstrations in advancing innovation. His legacy serves as an inspiration for technologists to embrace humility, pursue hands-on learning, and strive to make impactful contributions to the field.
Tim, this is fantastic. What a honor you do for Gordon's legacy
Thanks, Paul!
